Every once in awhile I think I should have a blog, and then I realize, I probably do have one set up, I just never write in it. And I realize I don’t know what to write about.
Received two new books on domain driven design per recommendation of our dev lead. Looking forward to reading them!
Surprise! A tutorial site I was a member of renewed my annual subscription without a courtesy email beforehand to let me know. I guess I must’ve agreed to that but a courtesy email would be nice for those. Sigh. I haven’t used it probably that entire year.
Given the opportunity to volunteer and asked if I know PHP. I haven’t worked with PHP since the end of 2014. So naturally I ordered some books and started refreshing my skills. Ooo reason to re-learn a language, sounds good to me!
I’m on a real ‘purpose and meaning’ book kick lately. I just finished Hero on a Mission, am reading From Strength to Strength, and have The Second Mountain, Life on Purpose, and How to Begin on deck
Currently reading: From Strength to Strength: Finding Success, Happiness, and Deep Purpose in the Second Half of Life by Arthur C. Brooks 📚 It starts off depressing but here’s hoping it improves.
Currently reading: Hero on a Mission: A Path to a Meaningful Life by Donald Miller 📚 It’s reminding me to use my personal agency to make a life that is not just enjoyable but meaningful too.
I was just accepted to the On Deck Engineering cohort starting in May. On Deck “helps people start companies, find their next role, and invest in their careers”, and “is where top talent comes to accelerate their ideas and careers, surrounded by a world-class community”
3 communities for developers, with lots of articles to read and opportunities to blog - Hashnode, DEV, and CodeNewbie
I’m really liking Clover App for keeping notes and tasks together. It also hooks up to Google Calendar so you can have your events showing in the app on each daily note, and tasks with a due date are automatically brought forward, plus they have a Slack community for feedback.
Reading and really enjoying Hero on a Mission by Donald Miller, about a path to a meaningful life. He talks about the victim, villain, guide, and hero we can choose to be, and creating our own meaning in our journey
Reading… too many books to mention because apparently I can’t just finish one book before starting another.

I was able to figure out how to deploy a sample mixed reality extension (MRE) to AltspaceVR!

I’ve just received some C#, Unity, and game dev books I ordered and I’m really excited to get into it
Hello, I’m new here :) I’m a software developer and also interested in a variety of topics such as positive psychology, Stoicism, mindfulness, popular science, values and virtues, etc. I also recently got into the world of virtual reality and am hoping to learn how to develop games.
